AFCC Professional Code of Conduct for Events
AFCC is a nonprofit, international, interdisciplinary association of professionals dedicated to the resolution of family conflict. The purpose of this Code of Conduct is to uphold the values and professional integrity of the organization.
AFCC is dedicated to inclusive membership and practices. AFCC values collaboration and respect among professions and disciplines; learning through inquiry, discussion, and debate; innovation in addressing the needs of families and children in conflict; diversity in family structures and cultures; and empowering families to resolve conflict and make decisions about their futures.
AFCC strives to provide an event environment where open communications and diversity of opinions are welcomed and encouraged. We encourage the expression of differing opinions through respectful discourse, free from personal attack. Disagreement, when appropriate, is expressed in an academic or scholarly voice through publication or presentation, or in personal conversation in a professional manner.
AFCC is indemnified and held harmless from any liability associated with the conduct of third parties who are not employees of the organization.
AFCC is committed to treating each person fairly and equitably. Discrimination and harassment are inconsistent with our values.
Concerns regarding behavior inconsistent with this Code of Conduct should be raised privately with the Executive Director or Program Director. As deemed necessary and appropriate, reported concerns will be investigated and addressed. AFCC reserves the right to take appropriate action. AFCC, at its discretion, may refuse admission or require an attendee to leave any event at any time for behavior inconsistent with this Code of Conduct.
