About the Session
There are some tough topics parents have to decide when they are creating their Parenting Plan or working through co-parenting disagreements. One tough topic is the issue of guns. This Lunch & Learn will aim to help professionals working with parents in the court system or as co-parents to increase their knowledge of firearm laws, rules, and safety options in Missouri. We will provide updates on the current gun laws in Missouri, an overview of the gun safety options available and discussion of approaches to these topics in the mediation setting.

About Our Presenters
Joseph A. Lambson, JD - Joe focuses his family law practice in the areas of high asset divorce and complex child custody matters. Many of Joe’s cases involve concerns about a litigant’s mental health, allegations of substance abuse, and/or allegations of domestic violence. Given his reputation and experience in quarterbacking sophisticated family law litigation, Joe is frequently appointed by judges to serve as a guardian ad litem representing at-risk children in the family court process. Joe has a passion for fighting for the rights of children and devotes significant energy in his practice to representing victims of school bullying and cyber bullying and to helping individuals and families navigate their options when their child or loved one is the victim of abuse, harassment, or other forms of negligence. Joe’s civil practice is often, but not always, interconnected with his family law cases as he focuses on matters involving wrongful death, personal injury, invasion of privacy, and negligence on the part of corporations and school districts. Joe, a founding member and former President of the Hispanic Bar Association of Metropolitan St. Louis, has served as a member of the Missouri Bar’s Diversity Committee and the Missouri Bar’s Annual Meeting Planning Committee. He is fluent in Spanish and is frequently invited to present at legal conferences throughout Missouri including the Missouri Family Law Conference and the Missouri Bar Annual Meeting. Joe received his law degree from Washington University School of Law in St. Louis, Missouri and his undergraduate degree in philosophy from Brigham Young University in Utah. He currently lives in Saint Louis County, Missouri with his wife, 3 children, and 2 dogs
